FAQs
Who is climbing for?
Climbing is an athletic endeavor, but we've tried to make our product as accessible as possible. If you're fit enough to climb a ladder, you can climb with us. Auto belays have a minimum and maximum weight of 25-310 lbs. Children under 14 must be supervised.
What types of climbing does Mosaic offer?
We offer bouldering, top-rope, sport, and auto belays.

What is belaying?
Belaying is a technique used to create tension in a rope connected between the climber and the belayer to restrict the climber from falling. We offer daily classes for top rope belaying, include auto belays in our basic orientation, and provide regular lead climbing courses.
What do I need to climb?
First and foremost, you need to complete a waiver. Once you're here, you'll need climbing shoes, a harness, and to complete our orientation. If you don't have your own gear, we have rentals available! What you don't need is experience.
Do I have to be super strong?
Not at all! Anyone fit enough to climb a ladder is fit enough to climb at Mosaic. We welcome both new and seasoned climbers of any skill set! Feel like our climbing is too physical? Let our route setting team know and we'll be happy to accommodate you.
Do I need a partner?
No. You can climb on our auto belays, in the bouldering room, or meet someone new around the gym to climb with!
What if I need help with my children?
We offer regular youth programs that your children can attend to learn more about climbing. Our Youth Recreational Team Program is suitable for totally inexperienced climbers. If you're looking for help with your kids during a casual day of climbing, we can arrange for a coach to assist you during your visit. You'll need to give us at least a week's notice and pay our private instruction rates for this service.
Can I have a birthday party or event at Mosaic?
We have all you'll need for birthday parties, major events, teams building opportunities, and so much more at Mosaic. If you're thinking of bringing in a group of 20 or more, a little heads up can help us give you the best experience. To learn more, click here!
When should I visit?
There is never a bad time to visit, but keep in mind that weekends and weekday evenings will be busier. If you prefer a quiet experience or want to learn to climb without feeling rushed, a weekday before 4 PM would be a great time to stop in! During the busiest times of year we offer lessons by appointment. Please call the gym to schedule if you'd like to guarantee your spot.
What if I want private instruction?
Private instruction is a great way to get climbing without feeling like you're barely able to figure things out. We have professional, accommodating coaches that can help you learn to climb without any pressure. Feel free to reach out and schedule an appointment with at least a week's notice.
